Frequently Asked Questions

These answers explain how PourEpoxy works, what makes resin floors succeed, and why we start with a remote review. If you’re ready, submit your floor for review.

Initial reviews are completed remotely using photos and video.

Do you do free site visits?

No. We start with a remote review using photos and a short video. If an on-site technical assessment is required, it is quoted as a paid technical service and credited if the project proceeds.

Why can’t you just come and see the floor?

Resin flooring failures are usually caused by substrate conditions, not appearance. Photos and video help confirm cracks, moisture risk, weakness, and preparation requirements before any site visit.

How do we get started?

Submit the Expert Floor Review form and WhatsApp 5–8 photos plus a 30–60 sec walkthrough video. We’ll confirm suitability and next steps.

Substrate & Suitability

Why is preparation such a big deal?

Epoxy does not “fix” a bad floor — it reveals it. Most failures come from weak screeds, moisture vapour, dusty surfaces, or shortcuts. Preparation is the most important part of the system.

Can epoxy be installed over tiles?

Sometimes. Tiles must be firmly bonded and properly prepared (grinding + priming). Loose, hollow, or moisture-affected tiles are not suitable. We confirm this after reviewing your photos/video and, where needed, a technical assessment.

What should I know about substrate conditions?

Resin flooring performance depends on the underlying substrate.
Assessments are based on observable conditions and reasonable testing, but concealed issues within slabs or screeds cannot always be predicted.

Process & Expectations

Do you offer samples on site?

No. We use in-office sample boards, project references, and system photos. On-site samples can be misleading due to lighting and substrate differences. If a custom sample is required, it can be produced off-site as a paid service.

Can you do the work in phases or section by section?

Generally no. Phased epoxy installations create joints, colour variation, higher failure risk, and higher overall cost. We recommend continuous, planned sections for the best performance and finish.

How soon can we use the floor after installation?

It depends on system and conditions. Typical guidance:

  • Light foot traffic: 24–48 hours

  • Furniture/light use: 48–72 hours

  • Vehicles/heavy use: 3–7 days

Final timelines are confirmed per project.

Pricing & Budget

Do you give prices over WhatsApp?

We provide budget guidance after reviewing photos/video. Accurate pricing depends on preparation needs, substrate condition, selected system, and site logistics.

Why is epoxy more expensive than tiles or paint?

Epoxy is a technical flooring system, not a decorative coating. Pricing reflects correct preparation, specialised materials, skilled installation, and long-term performance. Cheap epoxy is usually cheap because preparation was skipped — and it fails.

What if my budget is very tight?

We’ll be honest. If epoxy isn’t suitable for your substrate or budget, we’ll recommend alternatives or advise against proceeding.

Safety & Performance

Is epoxy slippery?

It can be finished smooth, satin, or with anti-slip texture depending on the area and use. Slip resistance is designed into the system, not guessed.
